Moldova National Museum Complex Iasi

Overview

The National Museum Complex “Moldova” Iasi has its headquarters in the Palace of Culture, which houses four national museums:

Museum of History of Moldova

Museum of Science and Technology “Stefan Procopiu”

Museum of Art

Ethnographic Museum of Moldova

The complex also includes

Center for Research and Conservation-Restoration of Cultural Heritage.

The complex also has under its subordination museum objectives on the territory of the city of Iasi and the county, respectively. These are:

“Mihail Kogălniceanu” Memorial Museum in Iasi

Union Museum in Iasi

“Poni-Cernătescu” Museum in Iasi

“Alexandru Ioan Cuza” Palace in Ruginoasa

Cucuteni Archaeological Site Museum

Museum of Vine and Wine in Hârlău

The Palace of Culture underwent an extensive restoration process, completed in January 2016, carried out within the framework of the Government Program for the Rehabilitation of Historical Monuments.

On April 27, 2016, the Palace of Culture was reopened to the general public, with the four museums based here each inaugurating temporary exhibitions showcasing only a part of the museum collections.

To facilitate access for people with disabilities, there is a ramp at the entrance to the building, and inside the building it is recommended to use the elevator to follow the exhibition route.

The opening hours of the museums in the Palace of Culture are from Wednesday to Sunday, from 10:00 to 17:00 (last ticket at 16:30), except on public holidays.
