The annual international conference “MediCult: Cultural Mediation – Implications, Opportunities, Resources” aims at each edition to bring to the attention of professionals from cultural institutions in Romania and abroad current topics inspired by recent developments in how heritage and museum spaces are received and interpreted.
We invite specialists in the field to participate with presentations that tackle research directions such as:
– diversifying the museum message or the transition from monologue to polyphony
– emotional mapping of heritage or the memory of objects
– the participatory and sensitive museum
– accessibility policies in museums and cultural organizations.
The fifth edition will take place in a hybrid format on October 29 and 30, 2026, both at the Palace of Culture in Iași, in the REVIVE Multicultural Center – the Hall of the Machines, and online via Zoom. We look forward to receiving your presentation proposals by October 15, at the e-mail address coralia.costas@palatulculturii.ro, mentioning ”MediCult” in the subject of your message, attaching also a 100 words abstract, together with a short narrative CV of the author.
We are also kindly asking you to send us the texts of your papers until 15 November 2026, so to publish them in the Journal of Cultural Mediation, no. 5, 2026, at the Palatul Culturii Publishing House within ”Moldova” National Museum Complex of Iași, Romania.
Papers, in Romanian, English or French, will not exceed 15 pages A4 including photos. Text will be written with Times New Roman, size 12, single-spaced. All papers will be accompanied by a 10 line-abstract (100 words), in Romanian and English.
Photos will be spread over 5 pages at most and will be sent as separate attachments, not inserted in the text, and each photo will be provided a short caption.
Hoping that you will answer positively to our call, we remain available for providing any further information that might be necessary.
